edita is the
leading communications service provider in
the Nordic countries. Its mission is to help companies and
other organizations communicate better – more effectively,
efficiently and responsibly.
The Edita Group is made up of the parent company,
Edita Plc, as well as three Finnish and four Swedish subsidiar-
ies that operate in different communication sectors. Moreover,
Edita is a shareholder in two Swedish companies. Edita Plc
is wholly owned by the Finnish state, with headquarter in
Helsinki, Finland. Edita employs about 800 communications
professionals in Finland, Sweden, Ukraine and India.
In recent years, Edita has undergone a transformation; the
Group’s business operations have been developed in accord-
ance with the major changes taking place in the communica-
tions industry as the focus shifts from traditional printed prod-
ucts to digital channels. While operations and services with
declining profitability have been discontinued, all group com-
panies have been developed to become the forerunners of digi-
tal communications in their field.
Leading the way has always been important to Edita. Ever
since the company was founded in 1859, Edita has promoted
both technological and operational innovations in its business
operations and among individual employees.
The Edita Group consists of four business areas that are
based on the services provided by the group companies:
Marketing Services, Editorial Communication, Publishing,
and Print & Distribution. All group companies have a specific
market position and provide services that differ from those
of their sister companies. However, they all share the vision
of being leaders in their own sector of communications in
Finland, Sweden or all Nordic countries.
Edita Plc’s role in relation to its subsidiaries is to be an
active and innovative developer, and an attractive home for
strategically interesting business and competences, encourag-
ing pioneership.
Vision
Edita aims to further strengthen its position as the leading
communications service provider in the Nordic countries.
Consequently, Edita will continue its profitable growth in the
Nordic countries, primarily in its home markets, Finland and
Sweden, and is reviewing opportunities to extend operations
into new market areas.
Measured in net revenue, Edita has already achieved a lead-
ing position in the Nordic countries. The aim is to become a
leading company and a forerunner in versatility and quality of
communication services as well.
