Jarkko Kinnunen will walk the 50 kilometres at the Olympic Games for the third time: he crossed the finish line in
fifteenth place on both previous occasions in Beijing and London. Jarkko’s best international achievement to date
is ninth place at the World Championships of 2009 in Berlin. This season is his first under the guidance of Valentin
Kononen, world champion in 50 kilometres in 1995. Jarkko holds a degree in sports pedagogy from the University of
Jyväskylä.
