Antti Ruuskanen’s bronze from London 2012 is the latest in a long line of Finnish Olympic javelin medals reaching

back more than a century. Two years later Antti enhanced his credentials by winning the European Championship

title in Zurich. In July 2016 he took bronze at the European Championships in Amsterdam after a mild injury forced

him to forfeit his last two throws. Antti has been a remarkably consistent competitor: he has qualified for the

final in all his six previous major championships. Antti is a qualified electrician and also holds a sports instructor’s

degree. His favourite hobbies are hunting and fishing.
