Taru Kuoppa

Taru Kuoppa won her ticket to Rio at the very last moment at the final world qualification tournament in Antalya,

Turkey in June. Taru was a promising national team archer around the turn of the millennium, but she eventually

lost her motivation and quit the sport in 2004. She started again nine years later and made a quick return to

Finnish elite. In 2014 Taru came close to winning her first international medal, finishing fourth with Antti Tekoniemi

in mixed team competition at the European Championships in Armenia. Outside of archery Taru’s favourite pursuits

are golf, snowboarding and fishing.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

2000 EurCh 45th.

2001 WCh 33-64th.

2014 EurCh 17–32nd, team 9–16th, mixed team 4th.

2015 WCh 33–56th, team 31st, mixed team 32nd. European Games 33–64th, mixed team 9–16th.

2016 EurCh 33–56th, team 9–16th, mixed team 8th.
