Anne-Mari Hyryläinen

Anne-Mari Hyryläinen is quite an exceptional athlete in the Finnish Olympic team. She is a professional mountain

guide who lives in Dubai. In 2010 Anne-Mari became the second Finnish woman to reach the peak of Mount

Everest. Her other major Himalayan conquests are Lhotse and Manaslu. For the past year Anne-Mari has fully

concentrated on training for the Olympic marathon in Rio. She first represented Finland as a marathon runner at the

World Championships of 2015 in Beijing. In July 2016 she made a promising run in half-marathon at the European

Championships in Amsterdam.

Wilma Murto

Having just turned 18, Wilma Murto is the youngest member of the Finnish Olympic team in Rio de Janeiro, all

sports included. Wilma was the sensation of the Finnish indoor athletics season 2016: in January at Zweibrücken,

Germany she raised her personal best by more than 30 centimetres to clear the bar at 471, new world record in

under-20 age category. In July she made her debut in the Finnish national team at senior level, finishing seventh at

the European Championships in Amsterdam. A few weeks later she won her first international medal, bronze at the

World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
