CYCLING –ROAD
Finnish cyclists were first seen at the Olympic Games in Stockholm 1912, where Antti Raita finished sixth and the Finnish team
fifth in the 320-kilometre road race. A hundred years later these still remain the best results of Finnish Olympic cycling. Tea
Vikstedt-Nyman finished sixth in women’s road time trial in Atlanta 1996. In track cycling the best Finnish Olympic achieve-
ments are Vikstedt-Nyman’s seventh places in pursuit in 1992 and in points race in 1996.

in Rio does not favour natural sprinters like her. Lotta used to compete in athletics, swimming and triathlon in her
