Rio 2016 will be third Olympic regatta for Niklas Lindgren, who beat his brother Joonas in competition for Finland’s
place for Qingdao 2008 and then joined forces with him in time for Weymouth 2012. The brothers clinched their
ticket to Rio by finishing fifth at the World Championships of 2015 in Haifa, Israel. Their father Jouko Lindgren won
bronze in the same 470 class in the Olympic regatta of 1980 in Tallinn. Niklas studies for a degree in economics at
Aalto University in Helsinki.
