Event: Trap

Satu Mäkelä-Nummela won gold in trap shooting in Beijing 2008, which makes her Finland’s latest Olympic

champion at Summer Games. Her other major medal is World Championship bronze from Maribor 2009. Satu earned

her ticket to Rio by winning a World Cup competition in Larnaca, Cyprus in 2015. In 2016 she has already won a

World Cup event in Baku. Satu is married with two children. Her husband Matti Nummela is a three-time Olympic trap

shooter who finished eighth in Seoul 1988. Satu’s favourite hobbies are gardening and playing the tenor horn.
