Matti Mattsson won the prize for the most surprising feat in Finnish sport in 2013: at the World Aquatics

Championships in Barcelona he shaved almost three seconds off his Finnish record and won bronze in 200 metres

breaststroke. In the previous year he had finished 17th in his Olympic debut in London. Matti has made a comeback

to the world elite this year, finishing fifth at the European Championships in London in May. In his junior years Matti

also competed with success in fin swimming.
